Going to the bakery should always be enjoyable

There’s butter, cream, salt, chocolate, cheese, YEAST

Whatever you want

Everyone always is excited about the bakery

But since I’m a child I am terrified

Not that it doesn’t stop me

We all need to get bread and cheesecake

Today I was reminded why

When I go into the bakery I’m naked

There for all to see

A person who needs help

A person who needs to be served

A person with no autonomy

Hello

What do you want?

Which bread?

Which bread?

WHICH bread?

A croissant, too?

WHICH?

WHICH?

Tension

Eye rolls

Is that…IT?

I want to cry

I just want my bread and maybe something sweet

I just want to eat and go home

But here I am

Naked and alone

In the bakery.
